What do we do with your information?

Our privacy policy outlines when you purchase something from our eCommerce online store, as part of the buying and selling process, we collect the personal information you give us such as your name, address, and email address.

When you browse our eCommerce online store, we also automatically receive your computer’s internet protocol (IP) address in order to provide us with information that helps us learn about your browser and operating system, as well as the following information:

  • Billing, shipping, and order information, including buyer/recipient name, address, phone number(s), email address.
  • Information related to transactions (both completed and cancelled) including products, buyer/recipient details and transaction time stamps.
  • Website use information including visit counts, page views, average time on site, traffic source, browser type, terms search, referrals, operating system, connection speed; and any other information that is sent to Roomblooms.

How do you get my consent?

When you provide us with personal information to complete a transaction, verify your credit card, place an order, arrange for a delivery, or return a purchase, we imply that you consent to our collecting it and using it for that specific reason only.

If we ask for your personal information for a secondary reason, like marketing, we will either ask you directly for your expressed consent, or provide you with an opportunity to say no.

We may disclose your personal information if we are required by law to do so or if you violate our Terms of Service.

WooCommerce

Roomblooms uses WooCommerce in our eCommerce online store. We collect information about you during the Checkout process.

What we collect and store

While you visit our website (eCommerce online store), we’ll track:

  • Products you’ve viewed: we’ll use this to, for example, show you products you’ve recently viewed
  • Location, IP address and browser type: we’ll use this for purposes like estimating taxes and shipping
  • Shipping address: we’ll ask you to enter this so we can, for instance, estimate shipping before you place an order, and send you the order!
  • We’ll also use cookies to keep track of cart contents while you’re browsing our site.

When you purchase from us, we’ll ask you to provide information including your name, billing address, shipping address, email address, phone number, credit card/payment details and optional account information like username and password. We’ll use this information for purposes, such as, to:

  • Send you information about your account and order
  • Respond to your requests, including refunds and complaints
  • Process payments and prevent fraud
  • Set up your account for our store
  • Comply with any legal obligations we have, such as calculating taxes
  • Improve our store offerings
  • Sending you marketing messages, if you choose to receive them

If you create an account, we will store your name, address, email and phone number, which will be used to populate the Checkout for future orders.

We generally store information about you for as long as we need the information for the purposes for which we collect and use it, and we are not legally required to continue to keep it. For example, we will store order information for 7 years for tax and accounting purposes. This includes your name, email address and billing and shipping addresses.

Comments or reviews will also be stored, if you choose to leave them.

Who on our team has access?

Members of our team have access to the information you provide us. For example, both Administrators and Shop Managers can access:

  • Order information like what was purchased, when it was purchased and where it should be sent, and
  • Customer information like your name, email address, and billing and shipping information.

Team members have access to this information to help fulfill orders, process refunds, and support you.

MailChimp for WooCommerce

When shopping, MailChimp keeps a record of your email and the Cart contents for up to 30-days on their server. This record is kept to re-populate the contents of your Cart if you switch devices or needed to come back another day. Read the MailChimp privacy policy here.

Stripe

Online payments are powered by Stripe for thousands of businesses. They are a technology company that builds economic infrastructure for the internet. Businesses of every size—from start-ups to public companies—use Stripe’s software to accept payments for online business.

Payments through Stripe

If you choose a direct payment gateway to complete your purchase, then Stripe stores your credit card data. It is encrypted through the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). Your purchase transaction data is stored only as necessary to complete your purchase transaction. After that is complete, your purchase transaction information is deleted.

All direct payment gateways adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, and American Express.

Pay in 4, buy now pay later

Pay in 4 is a service provided by PayPal where you split your purchase into 4 interest-free payments. The first payment is due at checkout, then pay every 2 weeks.

Use the buy now pay later service by selecting PayPal at Checkout and then select Pay in 4.

About Pay in 4

  • PayPal Pay in 4 is available for eligible purchases of $30-$1,500.
  • When you apply, PayPal may run a credit check to determine your eligibility.
  • Late fees are not charged by PayPal, but late or missed payments could affect your PayPal account and credit score.
  • You must live in Australia, have an Australian PayPal account, and be of legal age in Australia to use Pay in 4.

Third-party services

In general, the third-party providers used by us will only collect, use, and disclose your information to the extent necessary to allow them to perform the services they provide to us.

However, certain third-party service providers, such as payment gateways and other payment transaction processors, have their own privacy policies in respect to the information we are required to provide to them for your purchase-related transactions.

For these providers, we recommend that you read their privacy policies so you can understand the manner your personal information will be handled by these providers.

Certain providers may be in a location or have facilities in a location in a different jurisdiction than either you or us. So, if you elect to proceed with a transaction that involves the services of a third-party service provider, then your information may become subject to the laws of the jurisdiction(s) in which that service provider or its facilities are located.

Once you leave our store’s website or are redirected to a third-party website or application, you are no longer governed by this Privacy Policy or our website’s Terms of Service.

When you click on links on our store, they may direct you away from our site. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of other sites and encourage you to read their privacy statements.

Security

To protect your personal information, we take reasonable precautions and follow industry best practices to make sure it is not inappropriately lost, misused, accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed.

If you provide us with your credit card information, the information is encrypted using secure socket layer technology (SSL) and stored with an AES-256 encryption. Although no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, we follow all PCI-DSS requirements and implement additional generally accepted industry standards.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to modify this privacy policy at any time, so please review it frequently. Changes and clarifications will take effect immediately upon their posting on the website. If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you here that it has been updated, so that you are aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we use and/or disclose it.

If our store is acquired or merged with another company, your information may be transferred to the new owners so that we may continue to sell products to you.
